There is a solid tutorial in the game, and there is a detailed manual that you can reference online too. Takes a little bit of time to learn and understand the underlying mechanics, but this will vary based on your experience with these types of games. Once you learn the game systems, you'll easily be able to decipher a bunch of different things around the map and with your units very quickly. UI is a common complaint for many games, at least in some areas, so it's notable that this small team has done such a good job at laying the information out in a way that is quick and easy to see. I think if you have any interest for those things, you should check this out (you only need to buy the base game first since every DLC is simply adding more campaigns which means you lose nothing in terms of gameplay/mechanics by playing the base game's campaign first and waiting to buy the DLC once you know that you will want to play more).Īlso, I want to call out how good the UI is too. Modders are able to extend to and modify gameplay by creating mods with assets, scripts and even entire scenes, all within the Unity editor. As a lover of turn based strategy/tactics games and history, I really am enjoying this game. uMod 2.0 is a complete modding solution for the Unity game engine and makes it quick and painless to add mod support to your game. Turn based tactics are done well here, and the developers have put alot of thought and care into representing the historical realities of the specific scenarios within WWII.
